Burna Boy Didn’t Foot The Bill For All Patients — UPTH

The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) has debunked rumors that popular singer, Burna Boy, paid off all patients’ medical bills during his recent visit.
While Burna Boy’s philanthropic efforts in Port Harcourt, including covering medical expenses, donating food, and buying lunch for N4M at a popular market, have made headlines, the hospital clarifies that he only sponsored specific patients’ expenses.

In response to earlier reports, the hospital’s spokesperson, Elabha Meni, issued a statement on Friday in Port Harcourt, praising Burna Boy’s generosity while setting the record straight.

“We commend Burna Boy’s kindness in financially assisting select patients in our hospital to offset their bills during his visit on June 11.”

“However, contrary to reports stating that all patients’ bills in UPTH were paid during the visit, only selected patients received cash gifts or donations.”

“The hospital did not receive direct payments from the musician and his team on behalf of patients to support this worthy course of reducing healthcare costs,” Meni stated.
