Presidency Denies Reports of N105,000 Minimum Wage Proposal

The Presidency has denied reports that the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun, proposed a new minimum wage of N105,000. The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the reports as false.

The denial comes amidst ongoing negotiations between the Federal Government and organized labour unions over a new minimum wage. The Minister of Finance had earlier submitted a proposal to President Tinubu, but the details of the cost implications remain undisclosed.
