The President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Claudia Sheinbaum on her historic victory as Mexico’s first female President.
According to a statement released by Tinubu’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, it was emphasized that Sheinbaum’s election marks a significant milestone in gender representation in government, shattering the political glass ceiling.
President Tinubu highlighted the global significance of Sheinbaum’s win, stating that it underscores the indispensable role women play in governance and decision-making processes. He expressed Nigeria’s support for Mexico and called for the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two nations across various spheres of mutual interest.
The Official results from the National Electoral Institute reveal Sheinbaum’s resounding victory, securing approximately 58-60 per cent of the votes.
