Naira Abuse: Court Adjourns Cubana Chief Priest’s Trial to June 25

 

The Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned the trial of celebrity bartender Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, to June 25, 2024. Cubana Chief Priest faces allegations of abusing the Naira notes during a social event at the Eko Hotel in Lagos .

 

He was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on April 17 on a three-count charge, accusing him of spraying and tampering with Naira notes. Despite pleading not guilty, he was granted bail in the sum of N10 million .

 

The case was adjourned to June 5 for a settlement report. However, the defence wrote a letter seeking an adjournment of the case, and the court has now fixed June 25 for mention .
