National Grid Restored After Labour Unions Suspend Strike – NUEE

The National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) has announced that the national grid has been restored, following the suspension of the strike action by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC).

The NLC and TUC had embarked on an indefinite strike on Monday, which led to the shutdown of the national grid, leaving the country in darkness. However, after a meeting with the Federal Government, the labour unions agreed to suspend the strike for one week to allow for further negotiations on the new minimum wage and other demands.

With the suspension of the strike, the national grid has been restored, and electricity supply has been reinstated across the country. The NUEE confirmed the restoration of the grid in a statement, saying that electricity supply has been restored to all areas of the country.

The development brings relief to Nigerians who had been affected by the strike action, which had disrupted economic and social activities across the country. The labour unions and the Federal Government are expected to continue negotiations in the coming days to resolve the outstanding issues.
