The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has praised President Bola Tinubu for defeating Boko Haram terrorists within his first year in office. Speaking at a book launch in Abuja, Akume highlighted the president’s achievements, including infrastructural developments and tackling kidnappers.
Meanwhile, the Defence Headquarters announced that 103 Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists and their families surrendered to the Nigerian military in Borno State between May 21 and May 23, 2024. The surrendered terrorists, comprising 13 adult males, 29 adult females, and 61 children, were received by troops in Mafa, Bama, Gwoza, and Monguno Local Government Areas. Akume attributed the success to President Tinubu’s leadership, stating that the federal government has made significant strides in defeating Boko Haram and developing critical infrastructure, including roads and the Abuja Metro Rail.
