The Kwara State Police Command has arrested Ayoola Sunday, coordinator of an educational institute in Ilorin, for allegedly sexually molesting two admission seekers studying at his centre. The arrest was confirmed by Police Public Relations Officer Ejire Adeyemi, who stated that Sunday will be charged to court after investigation is completed.
The two victims, who were preparing for the Interim Joint Matriculation Board examination, accused Sunday of sexual molestation. One of the victims reported that Sunday had threatened her to keep quiet about the incident, warning that she would lose her admission and examination chances if she spoke out.
The victims, along with some colleagues, reported the incident to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), leading to Sunday’s arrest. A sister of one of the victims’ colleagues, who had also been targeted by Sunday, encouraged the victims to report the case to the police and provided screenshots of his chats with her sister as evidence.
The suspect was arrested, detained, and later released, but the police have confirmed that he remains in their custody and will face charges after investigation. The victims and their families are seeking justice and protection from further harassment.
