Nigerian Meteorological Agency Staff Threaten Strike, Management Vows Resolution

Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) staff are threatening to strike on Monday, May 20th, over unpaid wages and benefits.

The union representing the staff alleges that they are owed 42 months of minimum wage arrears and have not received a 25-35% salary increase that was implemented for other staff. Additionally, they claim to be excluded from receiving Peculiar Allowances.

NiMet’s management has released a statement assuring their commitment to finding a resolution to the dispute.
