The Benue State police command has refuted social media reports claiming a woman in Makurdi stabbed her husband to death following a disagreement over sex.
On Tuesday, a correspondent for The Will sent a text message to SP Sewuese Anene, the Benue State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, seeking confirmation of the incident. Anene responded, “We don’t have this information please.”
Social media reports alleged that a 29-year-old woman named Torkwase stabbed her husband to death in Achusa Village, Makurdi Local Government Area, after an argument. The reports claimed the couple, married only two months, disagreed about intimacy, leading Torkwase to fatally stab her husband.
According to the social media narrative, Torkwase fled the scene, and police had begun investigating the murder. However, the official response from the Benue State police indicates they are currently unaware of the incident.
