A Nigerian man has been arrested for allegedly masterminding the murder of his wife in their Abuja home. Two others are also in police custody in connection with the crime. The incident occurred on Wednesday at number 5, Road 4, Police Estate, Kurudu, Abuja.
Residents reported seeing a young man on a motorcycle lurking around the victim’s residence before she was found dead in a pool of blood. The husband, now a prime suspect, attempted to conceal the crime by removing the body from the house, but was intercepted by security operatives.
According to eyewitnesses, the husband had been having an affair with the victim’s younger sister, which had caused tension in the family. The sister had reportedly vowed to continue the affair despite the victim’s objections.
The police have confirmed that three suspects, including the husband, are in custody and are being investigated in connection with the murder. The case has been reported at the Kurudu Police Division, and the victim’s remains have been deposited at the Asokoro General Hospital morgue.
The police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, has promised to provide further details on the investigation, but had not yet done so at the time of filing this report.
