Yoruba Nation Agitators Arrested for Invading Governor’s Office and State House of Assembly, Declare No Regrets

“We invaded the Governor’s Office and House of Assembly because we want our voices to be heard. We want Oodua Nation now. We are not scared of the consequences because we know we are fighting for our rights.”

On his part, Adeniyi said, “I don’t regret joining the struggle for the Yoruba Nation. As a young person, I believe in the vision of a better future for our people. We are not criminals, we are patriots fighting for our independence.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the arrest of the agitators and assured that they would be charged to court for their actions.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ngozi Onadeko, also warned that the police would not tolerate any form of lawlessness or violence in the state.

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, while reacting to the invasion of his office, condemned the actions of the agitators and urged them to channel their grievances through legitimate means.

The Yoruba Nation agitators have been calling for the secession of the Yoruba-speaking states in Nigeria and the creation of an independent nation for the Yoruba people.
