In a recent celebration with the theme, ‘Allah will not Change the Way of the People until they Change What is in their Hearts,’ Governor Sanwo-Olu, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, called upon Nigerians to change their thoughts and speak positively about the country. The governor emphasized that God would not bring about any changes for any society until its people decided to change their minds for the better.
Governor Sanwo-Olu urged citizens to stop cursing their country, as it hindered the potential for improvement. Instead, he encouraged Nigerians to have faith in their current leaders and pray for both them and the country. The governor emphasized that collective intent should be focused on praying for Nigeria and its leadership to do the right thing, as it is at that moment that Allah will intervene in the country’s present situation.
“It is, therefore, important for us to desist from talking ill about the country,” Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted during the celebration. He stressed the significance of empathy towards one another and the importance of being each other’s keepers.
In light of the governor’s remarks, it becomes clearer that embracing positive thoughts and attitudes, along with unity and empathy, is not only beneficial on an individual level but holds the potential for bringing about much-needed change in Nigeria.
