Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has warned Nigerians regarding the prudent consumption of electricity within the nation.
Addressing reporters at a press conference, Adelabu emphasized the absence of effective consumption management practices nationwide.
He underscored that unlike in other countries where efficient electricity management is prioritized, Nigeria lags behind in implementing such measures.
Furthermore, Adelabu highlighted a concerning trend where individuals leave appliances such as air conditioners and freezers running for extended periods, even when not in use, due to the perceived affordability of electricity.
This misuse of power according to him not only contributes to wastage but also strains the country’s energy resources unnecessarily.
In light of these challenges, Adelabu urged Nigerians to adopt responsible energy consumption habits to mitigate wastage and ensure the sustainable utilization of electricity resources.
He emphasized the need for greater awareness and education regarding energy conservation practices across all sectors of society.
