Customs Intercepts Cache of Weapons and Drugs at Lagos Tin-Can Island

The Tin-Can Island Command of the Nigeria Customs has intercepted a cache of weapons and ammunition allegedly being smuggled into the country by a criminal gang.

Among the items seized were military camouflage uniforms and illicit drugs like Colorado.

The recovered arms included automatic single barrel rifles and pump-action guns.

While specific details of the interception remain unclear, it is reported that the weapons were discovered during an inspection of imported shipments.

It is unknown at this time whether any arrests have been made.

This interception occurred just eight months after Customs seized 31 firearms of various types at the Tin-Can and Multi-Purpose Terminals (PTML) ports in Lagos. During that operation, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Mr. Adewale Adeniyi, stated that two suspects had been arrested in connection with the seizure.
