The 2023 World Happiness Report has positioned Nigeria as the eighth happiest country in Africa.

As of March 2023, Finland maintains its status as the world’s happiest country for the sixth consecutive time.

In the African context, Mauritius takes the lead as the happiest country on the continent, achieving a notable happiness score of 5.902. This ranking is attributed to the exceptionally joyful landscapes and diverse cultural richness prevalent in the nation.

Following closely is Algeria, securing the second position with a score of 5.392. This reflects a prevailing sense of well-being in North Africa. The data, compiled by the United Nations, relies on respondent ratings of their own lives, primarily sourced from the Gallup World Poll.

These insights from the World Happiness Report not only highlight the happiness standings of nations but also provide a glimpse into the factors shaping well-being on a global scale.
