The Lagos State Government has announced the end of its 50 percent reduction in transport fares in the state.
It would be recalled that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on 2nd August 2023 announced a 50 percent rebate on transport fares as a result on hike occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy.
The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) in a statement has now revealed that the fares will on Monday, 6th November 2023 return to what it was before the 50 percent reduction.

“50% Transport Rebate Ending This Sunday
“The 50% rebate in transport fare in the regulated transport system in Lagos ends on Sunday, a statement by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has said.
“The 50% fare rebate was announced by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on 2nd August 2023.
“The public is hereby informed that from Monday, 6th November 2023, transport fare will return to the pre-2nd August 2023 rate.
