Anxiety In Delta, Cross River As Prominent Nigerians Are Named In Tinubu’s Ministerial List

There is anxiety among political actors in Delta, Cross River and some other states over the ministerial slots in their states ahead of Thursday’s deadline for President Bola Tinubu to submit his list of ministers to the Senate.

However, it emerged that top on the list for screening according to Vanguard are the immediate past Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, current Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communications and Strategy, Dele Alake, former governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, Wale Edun, and immediate past governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, Adebayo Adelabu, a former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.However, controversy over the slot of some states was surfacing ahead of the revelation of the list on Thursday morning in the Senate.

In Delta State Mofo Boyo, an Oando oil executive is said to have been listed by several sources who say that his name was pushed by former Governor James Ibori and also welcomed by President Tinubu given the president’s links with Oando boss, Wale Tinubu.

However, other sources say that former member of the House of Representatives, Daniel Reyenieju who defected lately from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and was among those who worked with the James Ibori bandwagon to fight Senator Ifeanyi Okowa is the one listed.

Whatever, multiple sources say that Ibori is playing a big role in the position to be filled for Delta.

In Cross River State, among those mentioned are the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Ben Ayade, Senator John Enoh and the National Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr Betta Edu.

Hobnob News reports that the push for Edu is, however, being strongly challenged by some within the state who say that she is not from the state being affiliated mainly by marriage and residence.

Some say that they are watching with anxiety on how she would displace her political mentor, Ayade from Tinubu’s ministerial list.
