President Bola Tinubu on Monday assured Nigerians that no community across the country would be left behind in his administration’s development agenda.
Tinubu gave the assurance while flagging off the construction of the access road from Tunga Madaki to Zuba in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as part of activities marking his third year in office.
Represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, the President said the road project is part of a broader plan to improve infrastructure across the FCT and make the capital work for all residents.
He noted that the project would create employment opportunities for youths during construction while boosting transport, supplies and other economic activities after completion.
He said: “This project will also create jobs for our teaming youths during the construction and would support livelihood in the transport, supplies and services after completion.
“To the contractors, I expect timely delivery, quality work, and the engagement of local labour. To the people of Tunga Madaki, Zuba and all communities along this road, this road belongs to you; cooperate with the contractor to deliver quality work on time.
“My dear residents in Abuja, we will not stop here, all the road extensions, the completion of inner roads linking Abuja to Kaduna expressway are all part of one plan to make the FCT work for all residences and ensure that no community is left behind in our national development.”
Tinubu also commended the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, for what he described as the discipline and speed with which infrastructure projects are being delivered across the capital.
He said: “At this juncture, I would like to commend the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike and the entire FCT Administration for the discipline and speed with which projects are being delivered.
“From major highways to community access roads like this one, we are seeing a return to planning, the rejection of abandoned projects and a focus on results that citizens can feel.
“When I gave the charge to transform the FCT, the instruction was simple, deliver tangible outcomes that improves our daily lives and today the word speaks for itself.”
