APC Leaders Protest Alleged Manipulation of Agege Primary Election Results at National Secretariat

Some leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State on Friday stormed the party’s national headquarters in Abuja to protest the outcome of the party’s primary election for Agege Constituency I ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The protesting group, led by Johnson Kolawole, accused party officials of manipulating the results of the May 20, 2026, primary election to deny one of the aspirants, Egunjobi Ganiyu Kola, victory in the contest.

According to the group, Kola emerged victorious during the primary election but was allegedly denied recognition as the party’s candidate after the results were altered in favour of another contender.

The aggrieved party leaders called on the national leadership of the APC to intervene and ensure justice by restoring what they described as the “true mandate” of their preferred aspirant.

They also warned that failure to address the matter could create discontent among party members in Agege and negatively affect the unity of the party in the area ahead of the 2027 elections.

The protesters insisted that the integrity of the party’s internal democratic process must be protected, urging the leadership to investigate the alleged irregularities surrounding the primary election.
