Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has issued a stern warning to commissioners and special advisers serving in his administration, urging them to improve their performance or be prepared to vacate their positions.

The governor gave the warning during the Hawan Nasarawa Sallah homage in Kano, according to a statement released by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Governor Yusuf stressed the need for public officials to remain committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Kano State, noting that his administration would not tolerate complacency or underperformance.

He emphasized that every appointee must justify the confidence reposed in them by working diligently to implement government policies and programmes aimed at improving the lives of residents.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to accountability, efficiency and effective service delivery, warning that any official who fails to meet expectations could be shown the exit door.

According to the statement, Yusuf urged members of his cabinet and other political appointees to rededicate themselves to their responsibilities and ensure that government projects and initiatives are executed effectively for the benefit of the people.

The warning comes as the Kano State Government continues efforts to strengthen governance and accelerate development across key sectors in the state.
