The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly primary election for Surulere Constituency I in Lagos State as peaceful, transparent and orderly.
Gbajabiamila made the remarks shortly after the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency, Desmond Elliott, announced his withdrawal from the contest.
Elliott cited alleged intimidation of his supporters as the reason for stepping down from the APC primary election.
The development came amid the ongoing APC primaries across Lagos State ahead of the next electoral cycle, with party stakeholders monitoring the conduct of the exercise in various constituencies.
Despite Elliott’s withdrawal and allegations, Gbajabiamila maintained that the process in Surulere Constituency I was conducted in an orderly and transparent manner.
