Seyi Tinubu Reacts as Cubana Chief Priest Loses APC Reps Primary in Imo

Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has reacted to the defeat of celebrity businessman and nightlife promoter Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, in the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State.

Cubana Chief Priest had contested for the APC ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections but lost to the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Nwachukwu.

According to the primary election results, the celebrity businessman polled 14 votes, while Nwachukwu emerged victorious to secure the party’s ticket for the constituency.

Following the outcome of the exercise, Seyi Tinubu took to Instagram to encourage Cubana Chief Priest, urging him not to be discouraged by the defeat. His message, which was later reposted by Cubana Chief Priest, stressed that setbacks could eventually pave the way for future success.

Reacting to the result in a video circulating online, Cubana Chief Priest said he had no regrets about participating in the contest despite the outcome.

The socialite, however, expressed disappointment over the number of votes he received and questioned the role played by party stakeholders during the primary process.

The APC primary election in Imo State has continued to spark reactions across social media platforms, with supporters and critics sharing mixed opinions over the outcome and the influence of political structures within the party.
