A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), , has revealed that he and his supporters were never rewarded despite helping the late former President secure almost two million votes during past elections.
Kwankwaso expressed disappointment over what he described as the failure of Buhari’s camp to acknowledge the sacrifices and commitment of his political followers.
According to him, he and his loyalists risked their lives and invested heavily in mobilizing support for Buhari, yet their efforts were allegedly ignored after victory was secured.
The NDC chieftain lamented that despite the massive support they delivered at the polls, there was no meaningful recognition or appreciation from those who benefited politically from their contributions.
He further suggested that the experience served as a lesson in Nigerian politics, stressing the importance of loyalty and recognition among political allies.
Kwankwaso’s remarks have since generated reactions among political observers, especially amid ongoing realignments and consultations ahead of future political contests in the country.
