I received with shock and deep sorrow, the news of the passing of Professor Faith Osadolor, an eminent scholar, distinguished legal mind, and devoted public servant. His death is a profound loss not only to his family but also to Edo State, the academic community, and all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
Professor Osadolor was an erudite law professor at the University of Benin, where he made immense contributions to the development of legal education and scholarship. Through his intellect, dedication, and commitment to excellence, he mentored generations of students who continue to uphold the values he embodied. His legacy within the university community will endure for years to come.
During his service as Solicitor General of Edo State under my administration, Professor Osadolor distinguished himself as a man of diligence and uncommon professionalism. He brought clarity, depth, and composure to the discharge of his duties, strengthening the legal framework of governance in the State and contributing meaningfully to institutional reforms.
A soft-spoken intellectual and politician, Professor Osadolor was widely respected for his calm disposition and thoughtful approach to issues of public importance. He possessed a rare ability to combine academic brilliance with practical governance, earning the admiration of colleagues, associates, and the people he served.
His passing leaves a void that will be difficult to fill. Edo State has lost one of its finest minds, a patriot whose contributions to public service and education were marked by selflessness and dedication. His life stands as a testament to the impact of knowledge, humility, and service to humanity.
I commiserate with the Osadolor family, the University of Benin, and all who mourn this painful loss. I pray that they find strength and comfort in the remarkable life Professor Osadolor lived and the enduring legacy he leaves behind.
It is our collective prayer that Almighty God grants the soul of Professor Faith Osadolor eternal rest and gives his family, friends, and the entire University community, the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. He will be sorely missed.
