Senate President Godswill Akpabio has praised the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, saying the All Progressives Congress (APC) is setting the pace in Nigerian politics while sidelining the opposition.
Speaking at the APC’s 8th National Convention and 4th Elective Convention in Abuja on Friday, Akpabio credited the party’s growing influence to Tinubu’s governance.
“APC is showing the way,” Akpabio said. “Thanks to the good governance brought by Mr. President, there are now only two types of political parties in Nigeria: APC and others.”
He highlighted key achievements under Tinubu’s administration, including economic reforms such as subsidy removals and the harmonization of exchange rates, educational improvements, and an agricultural revolution.
“Your policies are real and impactful. Today, people can travel seamlessly from Lagos to Ibadan, and from Lagos to Calabar,” Akpabio noted. “As I speak, I have taken a ride along the coastal roads we envisioned in the Niger Delta 50 years ago.”
Akpabio’s remarks underline the APC’s narrative of progress and development as it seeks to consolidate support ahead of future political contests.
