The Cross River State Government has officially revoked the cattle movement permit previously granted to the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, which allowed the transport of cattle from Ebonyi State through Cross River to Cameroon.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Sunday by Hon. Emmanuel Anom, Commissioner for Livestock, Aquaculture, and Fisheries Development, in Calabar.
Anom explained that the revocation takes precedence over the earlier permit. “The Cross River State Government, through the Commissioner, hereby cancels the permit formerly issued to the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders for moving cattle from Ebonyi State through Cross River State to Cameroon. Security agencies are instructed to ensure that no such movement occurs within the state,” he said.
