The Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, has, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, extended hearty congratulations to ASP Shide Sunday on his recent international academic recognition.
ASP Shide Sunday was recently awarded a Certificate of Recognition by the Board of the International Journal of Research and Scientific Innovation (IJRSI) for his scholarly paper titled “The Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Policing: A Study of Future Directions of the Nigeria Police Force”.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Police Academy, DSP Musa Isah Umar, said the Commandant described the milestone achieved by ASP Sunday as a testament to the intellectual capacity within the Nigeria Police Force and a reflection of the IGP’s progressive vision for a more innovative and knowledge-driven policing system.
The Commandant further said he would write a formal proposal to the IGP seeking approval for competent police officers with the required academic qualifications and certifications to be considered for engagement as visiting lecturers or academic staff within the Academy.
He also directed that a committee be immediately constituted to develop a framework for identifying such officers and facilitating their inclusion in the academic system.
He noted that ASP Sunday’s achievement should inspire other officers to embrace academic excellence and contribute to the professional development of the Nigeria Police Force.
