Today, October 1st, 2025, we celebrate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary. A day that reminds us of the strength, resilience, and unity that bind us together as a people. Independence is not only about political freedom; it is also about guaranteeing the well-being and security of our citizens. True national progress is measured by the health and productivity of our people. In this regard, health insurance remains one of the most powerful tools to safeguard our collective future.
The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) is committed to ensuring that every Nigerian, regardless of status, has access to affordable, quality healthcare without financial hardship. In Edo State, we continue to work with stakeholders to expand coverage and promote efficiency in service delivery, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government. As we mark this Independence Day, let us remember that protecting our health is protecting our freedom. By embracing health insurance, we take a united step towards reducing out-of-pocket spending, promoting equity, and securing a healthier, stronger Nigeria.
Happy Independence Day to all Nigerians!
