The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. Dr. George Akume (CON), has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for making notable progress in security, the economy, and welfare, while urging stakeholders to collaborate more closely to sustain the gains.
Akume gave the commendation on Thursday in Abuja when he received the Council of Retired Federal Permanent Secretaries, led by former SGF, Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, during a courtesy visit.
He assured the delegation that President Tinubu remained resolute in fulfilling his campaign promises, citing numerous completed and ongoing projects across the country as evidence of the government’s commitment.
“Security, economy and welfare, among other indices of governance, have received unprecedented attention in the last two years of his first term, with more in the pipeline,” Akume stated.
The SGF lauded the council for its solidarity and called for stronger collaboration with professional and noble associations to accelerate national growth and development.
In his remarks, Alhaji Yayale Ahmed commended Akume for his “tact and responsibility in governance,” noting that his wealth of experience as a former governor, senator, minister, and now SGF has positioned him well to coordinate what he described as the “engine room of governance.”
Other members of the delegation included Engr. Ebele Okeke (CFR), Mr. Akin Arikawe (OON), Mr. Japh Nwosu (OON), Dr. Adaoha Okwuosa (OON), Amb. Bulus Lolo, Dr. Ochi C. Achinku (OON), Haj. Binta L. Adam Bello (OON), Nana Fatima Mede (OON), Sabin Zakari, Olusade Adesola (OON), David Adejo Andrew (OON, FFAN), and Silas Pampy Ayuba.
The council pledged unwavering support for President Tinubu through the office of the SGF, vowing to contribute towards the success of the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda.
