The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under the auspices of Operation Hadin Kai, on Friday foiled a planned terrorist attack on troops stationed in Rann, Borno State, through swift intelligence gathering, surveillance, reconnaissance, and precision air strikes.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operation was launched in the early hours of August 8, 2025, after credible intelligence indicated an imminent threat.
NAF’s air component promptly established contact with ground forces, tracked clusters of fleeing insurgents, and engaged them with precision munitions, neutralising several.
The swift response not only prevented the attack but also restored calm to the area, reaffirming the Air Force’s unwavering commitment to close air support, troop safety, and the rapid neutralisation of insurgent threats.
Ejodame stressed that such proactive operations remain vital in maintaining security and protecting both military personnel and civilian communities in the North-East.
