Wike Meets APC Governors Oborevwori, Nwifuru in Abuja Amid Political Realignments

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Thursday met with Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his Ebonyi State counterpart, Francis Nwifuru, in Abuja.

According to Hobnob News, the closed-door meeting took place in the early hours of the day and was made public by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, via his verified Facebook page.

Olayinka posted: “Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and his Ebonyi State counterpart, Francis Nwifuru, during their visit to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja a few minutes ago.”

While details of the meeting remain undisclosed, the visit has sparked fresh speculation over Wike’s growing political influence and cross-party interactions, particularly within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The meeting comes just weeks after Wike hosted factional Labour Party National Chairman, Julius Abure, at his Abuja residence — a visit Abure described as private, stressing his right to engage any public office holder.

Wike, a former Rivers State Governor and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has in recent months been at the centre of several high-level political consultations, further fuelling discussions about shifting alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections.
