President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace, security, and national cohesion, assuring citizens that Nigeria is firmly on the path to recovery from insecurity and violent unrest.
Speaking through the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, during the commissioning of the first phase of a housing project for victims of banditry in Kaduna State, President Tinubu declared:
“Nigeria is in safe hands, and we will restore law and order. That is an assurance we are giving. It will be done.”
The housing initiative—executed in collaboration with the Qatar Charity Organisation—is part of a broader federal government strategy to rebuild and rehabilitate communities affected by armed conflict, displacement, and banditry.
Fresh Air in Kaduna
Highlighting recent security gains, Tinubu remarked,
“Recovery is ongoing, and it is clear that fresh air is blowing through Kaduna State—things are changing.”
He said the reopening of the Birnin Gwari Market and the return of displaced farmers to their lands are signs of tangible progress.
Tinubu underscored that good governance must place people’s welfare at its heart, particularly for those whose lives have been torn apart by conflict.
“We are wiping the tears of victims of extreme violence. We are reconciling communities. We are giving everyone a space to belong and a sense of inclusion,” he affirmed.
Kaduna Peace Model: A Blueprint for National Security
The President commended the Kaduna State Government, the Office of the National Security Adviser, and the Chief of Defence Staff for adopting a hybrid security strategy—one that blends intelligence-led military operations with grassroots peacebuilding.
Describing it as the “Kaduna Peace Model,” Tinubu said the approach is both community-driven and intelligence-based, adding that sustainable peace must be “cultivated, not imposed.”
Support for Victims and International Partners
Addressing the victims directly, Tinubu assured them that their plight is seen and felt by the government.
“You are victims of extreme violence, but we are with you. Your government sees you and acknowledges your pains.”
He expressed gratitude to the Qatar Charity Organisation for its partnership, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration in rebuilding lives and fostering peace.
“This fight against terrorism is a challenge,” he concluded, “but addressing it remains one of the top priorities of this current administration under our national security agenda.”
The President’s remarks signal a continued federal focus on restoring normalcy, strengthening institutions, and delivering sustainable relief to communities worst hit by insecurity.
