Kidnap Kingpin Nabbed in Ogun After Impersonating Soldier with Stolen Uniform

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a suspected kidnapping kingpin, Wasiu Oloyede, in the Odo Pako area of Ota on Sunday.

Oloyede is believed to be the mastermind behind a recent abduction in Alagbado, Lagos, where a serving soldier was kidnapped. During the attack, the victim was stripped of his military uniform, identity card, ATM cards, and phone. The soldier later escaped from captivity.

In a twist, Oloyede allegedly attempted to impersonate military personnel by wearing the stolen uniform in a bid to deceive a local vigilante. He reportedly tried to snatch the vigilante’s dane gun during the encounter.

His plot failed when the alert vigilante raised an alarm, prompting police to swoop in and arrest him.

Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest other members of the kidnapping syndicate. Oloyede remains in custody as law enforcement continues its crackdown on criminal networks in the region.
