Spanish police say available evidence indicates late Liverpool forward Diogo Jota was behind the wheel and likely speeding when the fatal crash occurred.
Jota and his brother, André Silva, died when their Lamborghini reportedly suffered a tyre blowout in Zamora province early last Thursday.
On Tuesday, police confirmed that tyre marks and all tests conducted so far point to Jota as the driver.
The investigation has been complicated by the fire that nearly destroyed the vehicle. Police also noted that the crash site is not classed as an accident-prone area.
