In a heartwarming celebration of creativity and talent, 16-year-old Chinedu Nwali has been awarded a ₦5 million cash prize and a full university scholarship by Rainoil Limited for his outstanding artistic model of a Rainoil fuel station.
The presentation took place at the Rainoil Summit Station in Asaba, Delta State, where the company’s Group Managing Director, Dr. Gabriel Ogbechie, hailed Chinedu’s detailed and imaginative work as a rare example of youth excellence.
“We are incredibly proud of Chinedu’s talent,” said Dr. Ogbechie. “His design captures not just the visual identity of Rainoil but also the passion and admiration behind it. While many youths are involved in the wrong things, here is a young boy using his time and talent wisely. He’s a role model.”
Ogbechie further emphasized that Rainoil’s support goes beyond the cash reward, stating the company will follow up with Chinedu throughout his academic journey to ensure his growth and development.
The young SS1 student, visibly overwhelmed by the recognition, shared the backstory of his creation. Inspired by the beauty and structure of Rainoil stations, Chinedu, alongside his brother Emmanuel, raised funds and materials to craft a miniature prototype of a typical Rainoil outlet, hoping it would catch the attention of the station manager.
His hard work paid off.
Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Emma Bazim Chinye, who was also present at the event, praised Chinedu’s God-given gift and pledged further support to nurture his creativity.
This remarkable act by Rainoil underscores the importance of recognizing and nurturing young talent, especially those using their skills to make a positive impact. Chinedu’s story stands as a beacon of hope and a shining example for other young Nigerians.
