Chief John Nwosu has officially emerged as the gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Party (ADC) for the upcoming off-cycle governorship election scheduled for November in Anambra State.
The announcement was made following the party’s primary election, which took place under tight security and was supervised by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Chief Nwosu, a respected community leader and businessman, secured a clear majority of the votes cast by delegates across the state, affirming his position as the party’s flagbearer.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Nwosu expressed gratitude to the delegates and party leadership for their confidence in his vision and leadership. He pledged to run an inclusive campaign and promised to prioritize economic growth, infrastructure, and education if elected.
“We are at a critical point in Anambra’s history,” Nwosu stated. “The people deserve a government that listens, acts, and delivers. I am committed to bringing meaningful change and development to our beloved state.”
The African Democratic Party has called for unity among members and supporters as they prepare for what is expected to be a highly competitive election.
INEC has set the governorship election for November, and political activities across the state are already gaining momentum as parties finalize their candidates and strategies.
