The Lagos State Government has issued a stern warning to residents, cautioning against the assault of officials from its various enforcement agencies. This directive follows a string of recent attacks on state personnel, which the government has condemned as serious threats to law and order.
Speaking during a ministerial press briefing held on Thursday at the State Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Central Business Districts (CBD), Bola Olumegbon-Lawal, described the assaults as grave infractions with the potential to disturb public peace and undermine the authority of the state.
According to Lawal, at least three CBD officers have been physically attacked while performing their official duties in recent weeks. She emphasized the urgent need for residents to cooperate with government agencies to ensure the safety and smooth functioning of public operations.
“We will not tolerate any act of violence against our officers,” Lawal stated. “Anyone found guilty of assaulting law enforcement personnel will be brought to justice.”
