Officials from the Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) have arrested a major drug supplier, Ezeonyili Franklin Uchenna, also known as Kaleshi, who had been on the run for over a year. The Nigerian national was caught at Ibrahimbagh after a tip-off informed police that he had arrived in the city from Bengaluru. Authorities seized 17 grams of MDMA from his possession.
Initially, Kaleshi denied carrying any drugs, but upon a search, the contraband was found hidden in his pocket. He was apprehended while waiting to deliver the drugs to a contact.
During his interrogation, a pen drive was recovered from Kaleshi, containing critical evidence such as photographs, names of 411 Africans, receipts, and documents related to his drug trade activities. By reviewing the UPI payments stored on the pen drive, investigators discovered that Kaleshi and his network had been involved in drug transactions amounting to Rs 9.50 crore.
Police revealed that Kaleshi was working for Divine Ebuka Suzee and his girlfriend Uche Happiness, both of whom are currently on the run. Kaleshi was sent to Hyderabad in September 2022 to engage in drug trafficking. His task was to collect drugs in bulk from sources like Joana Gomes, alias Blessing, who obtained drugs from Delhi.
However, Blessing was arrested by Narsingi police a few months ago while attempting to deliver drugs. After her arrest, Kaleshi fled to Bengaluru but continued his operations from there, keeping records of payment receipts on the pen drive, which he shared with Ebuka.
Kaleshi was apprehended based on crucial information provided by Ugwu Ikechukwu and Chukwu Ogbonna, who had previously been arrested. Kaleshi has four criminal cases registered against him, including one in Bengaluru.
