Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Makurdi Zonal Directorate, have apprehended 25 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in a sweeping operation carried out across various locations in the Makurdi metropolis.
The arrests, which took place on Tuesday, April 8, and Wednesday, April 9, 2025, followed credible intelligence linking the suspects to cybercrime-related activities.
During the operation, EFCC officials recovered several items including three cars, five laptops, 22 mobile phones, and three motorcycles.
The commission stated that investigations are currently ongoing, and the suspects will be charged to court as soon as the process is concluded.
The EFCC reaffirmed its commitment to curbing cybercrime and other financial offenses across the country.
