Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu has been elected as the All Progressives Congress flag bearer for the Anambra state Governorship election set for November 8, 2025. He won the primary election held at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center in Awka, securing 1,455 votes out of 1,630 votes cast, with 26 invalid votes.
The other candidates were Mr. Val Ozigbo, who came second with 67 votes, John Bosco Onunkwo in third place with 26 votes, and Edozie Mmadu, who finished fourth with just eight votes.
Governor Bassey Otu of Cross Rivers State, acting as the chief Returning Officer, praised the election process, commending the security agents, party members, and various committees for their roles in ensuring its success. He urged everyone to support the winner to ensure the party’s victory in the November election.
Prince Ukachukwu expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu and the party’s working committee for organizing a smooth primary. He thanked the party members for their trust in him and pledged to make the party proud if elected. “I promise to make the party proud if I am elected come November 2025,” he said.
Chief Basil Ejidike, the state party chairman, also recognized the efforts of the President and the national and state committees, emphasizing the importance of unity to achieve their shared goal.
Anambra’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Queen Elizabeth Agwu, along with other INEC officials, was present during the overnight voting process.
