A chilling case of ritualistic murder has gripped Rivers State, as police have apprehended four individuals, including a native doctor, in connection with the brutal killings of two young children. Hobnob News reports on the disturbing details of the crime.
The victims, Chizaram Onuche and Chidinma Onuche, both 7 years old, were allegedly lured and murdered by the prime suspect after being sent on an errand. The suspect is accused of drugging the children in an uncompleted building and then dismembering them, collecting their blood in a bottle.
The Rivers State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the arrests and detailed the gruesome nature of the crime.
“The Rivers State Police Command wishes to inform the public of the arrest of suspects involved in a horrific case of ritual killing of two children,” Iringe-Koko stated.
The arrested suspects include:
- Aniekan Sunday Uko (27): The prime suspect, who allegedly lured, drugged, and murdered the children, collecting their blood.
- Luis John Uwelemele (19): Uko’s girlfriend, implicated in the crime.
- Kingsley Opurum (43): A native doctor, believed to have instructed Uko to provide human remains and blood for rituals.
- Friday Silas (47): Allowed the crime to happen in an uncompleted building he was staying in.
Police recovered crucial evidence, including a bottle containing the victims’ blood, the suspected murder weapon (a kitchen knife), and the sedative used to drug the children (“Black Bullet”).
According to Iringe-Koko, Uko confessed to engaging in the ritual killings after witnessing the native doctor perform similar acts for others seeking wealth. The native doctor allegedly instructed him to provide fresh human remains and blood.
The children’s bodies have been deposited in a mortuary for autopsy. The Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, has vowed to ensure justice is served in this disturbing case. Hobnob News will continue to follow this developing story.
