Contrary to initial reports of a violent kidnapping and murder, police in Abuja have revealed that former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, died in his hotel room after receiving a female guest. Hobnob News has obtained details of the police investigation, which paints a different picture of the circumstances surrounding his death.
The clarification comes after widespread reports alleged that Parradang was killed by suspected kidnappers on Tuesday. However, police have stated that he was found deceased in a chair within his hotel room by a concerned friend, a military officer, who traced him to the hotel accompanied by hotel staff.
SP Josephine Adeh, PPRO, issued a statement titled “FCT Police Respond to Misreported Death of Retired Comptroller General David Parradang,” providing a timeline of events. “In light of the recent reports alleging that retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, was kidnapped and subsequently killed, we wish to clarify the facts surrounding this incident to ensure accurate information is disseminated to the public,” Adeh stated.
According to the police report, Parradang arrived at Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, at approximately 12 pm on March 3, 2025, driving a black Mercedes Benz. He checked in, paying N22,000 for a one-night stay.
“Shortly thereafter, he directed the hotel room attendant to escort a female guest who had come to visit to his room,” Adeh revealed. “This lady left the hotel premises around 4 pm of the same day. Mr. Parradang did not exit his room after the lady left.”
The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding Parradang’s death. Hobnob News will provide updates as they become available.
