A daring abduction has taken place at the White Hill Hotel on Shiroro Road, Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State, where armed men posing as operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) took away 10 persons.
According to intelligence sources, the incident occurred at about 4:58 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2025. The armed men reportedly stormed the hotel, claiming to be EFCC personnel on an official operation. They disabled the hotel’s CCTV cameras before entering guests’ rooms one by one and forcibly taking away the individuals to an unknown destination.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Intelligence Department (Acpol SID), has confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify the perpetrators and locate the abducted victims. The public has been urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity, as authorities intensify efforts to uncover the details surrounding the attack.
It’s worth noting that this incident is not the first time that armed men have posed as EFCC operatives to carry out nefarious activities. In a separate incident in Lagos, EFCC operatives were caught on CCTV assaulting two women during a raid on a hotel.
The EFCC has not yet commented on the incident, as attempts to reach their spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, were unsuccessful.
