2027 Locked: APC Declares No Vacancy in Aso Rock

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bashir Ajibola, has asserted that there will be no vacancy in Aso Rock in 2027, calling on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration in the next general elections.

Ajibola made the statement on Friday in Ilorin during a multi-billion-naira agriculture and human capital development empowerment programme organized by Senator Saliu Mustapha, who represents Kwara Central in the Senate.

Addressing beneficiaries and party supporters, the APC national secretary emphasized the importance of sustaining the momentum of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, highlighting the administration’s strides in food security and economic reforms. He reaffirmed the party’s stance on continuity in governance.

“The initiatives under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are transforming Nigeria into a self-sustaining nation. His food security reforms are already yielding results. I urge everyone to support President Tinubu and Senator Mustapha in the next elections. I repeat, there is no vacancy in Aso Rock in 2027,” Ajibola stated.

The event was attended by key government officials, including the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, and several senators.

Kyari commended President Tinubu’s agricultural policies, noting that they have improved food availability and gradually reduced prices. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring food security and economic stability.

Senator Barau also praised Mustapha’s leadership as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, describing him as a significant figure in advancing the president’s agenda.

In his address, Mustapha stated that the empowerment programme was in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing the role of education and economic empowerment in national development.

He highlighted various initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of Nigerians, including scholarships for over 200 youths covering university tuition and accommodation, training programs for women in solar panel installation, and support for small-scale entrepreneurs. Additionally, over 100 abattoir workers received cows valued at ₦1 million each, while refrigerators and grinding machines were distributed to enhance small businesses.

As part of efforts to support local farmers, two tractors were allocated to each local government within the constituency.

Senator Barau, who represented Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the event, further contributed 200 sewing machines to support the empowerment initiative.

“We are here to show our support for Senator Mustapha. He is a senator we are proud of, always advocating for Kwara in the Senate. We will continue to collaborate with him,” Barau stated.

The event reinforced the APC’s stance on governance continuity, with party leaders emphasizing their commitment to sustaining President Tinubu’s policies and ensuring a smooth path for the administration beyond 2027.
