Mr Stephen Numbeve, State Coordinator of the BenueRural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (BN-RAAMP) has showered accolades on President Bola Tinubu for the creation of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), aimed at fostering rural development in the region.
The move was praised as a crucial step towards addressing various challenges facing the region, including infrastructure, security, and economic empowerment.
Numbeve on Wednesday welcomed the initiative, highlighting the potential benefits it would bring to the region.
He commended President Tinubu for recognizing the need for a dedicated commission to drive sustainable growth in North Central Nigeria.
Numbeve emphasized the importance of collaboration between government bodies and private sector stakeholders for the effective implementation of the commission’s mandate.
The State Coordinator added that for benue the Alia led administration had started on a good note as giant strides in all sectors were recorded and the establishment of the commission would be a plus to more developments in the state.
He also expressed gratitude for the potential establishment of the Commission’s headquarters in Benue State, which would provide access to development opportunities that were previously lacking.

Plateau State has the headquarters of ITF,
“Kogi State has the headquarters of Inland water ways,
Kwara State has just been given Nigeria college of civil aviation technology ,
” FCT is the seat of power with 98% of government agencies headquarters ,
Nasarawa State has zonal offices of UBEC and TETFUND”, he appealed.
While emphasising that the focus of the Commission on rural development was deemed promising, he added that ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable populations, such as internally displaced persons (IDPs), remained a top priority.
Numbeve maintained that leveraging the expertise and resources of the NCDC, Benue State was poised to make significant strides towards sustainable development.
The partnership between Benue State and the NCDC he explained was expected to yield positive impacts and lasting solutions to pressing challenges in the region.
The establishment of the North Central Development Commission has been hailed as a milestone in driving progress and transformation in Benue State.
Recall that during Tuesday’s, plenary the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio announced that President Tinubu had signed into law the North Central Development Commission etc.
