Ogoniland Film Village Project Halted Over Security Concerns

The Tai Local Government Council in Ogoni, Rivers State, has suspended the construction of a film village project, “Certified Courtist,” due to security risks to the community. The project, owned by local resident Ndume Green, was put on hold because of the government’s inability to protect lives and properties in Ogoniland .

According to Green, he had been in talks with Council Chairman Mathew Dike for three months to resolve the issue, but to no avail. Green expressed concerns about the financial implications of the delay, having secured a bank loan for the project. He emphasized his apolitical stance and desire to conduct business without interference.

The suspension of the project highlights the ongoing security challenges in Ogoniland, despite efforts to address environmental and social issues in the region. The Tai Local Government Council’s decision to prioritize security concerns may have significant implications for businesses and investors in the area.
