Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, remains unfazed by attempts to initiate a recall process by some of her constituents, dismissing the move as a “sponsored” effort destined to fail. Reports surfaced on Wednesday that certain individuals in Akpoti-Uduaghan’s constituency had begun the process of recalling her from the Senate. The recall process, which was witnessed in the Okehi Local Government Area, involved electorates registering their support for the recall. One of the electorates, Nura Ibrahim, claimed that the exercise transcended party lines, citing growing dissatisfaction with Akpoti-Uduaghan’s performance, particularly in addressing critical issues such as poverty, infrastructure, and education.

As far as we are concerned, the recall attempts wouldn’t stand.”
He further asserted that the Senator’s camp is not under any pressure and remains confident that the recall efforts will ultimately be unsuccessful. “We are not under any form of pressure and we will never be,” Arogbonlo declared. “I hope you recall there was a protest by our actual constituents two days ago that there was no plan to recall anybody.”
