The North-Central All Progressives Congress Forum has renewed its call for Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang to leave the Peoples Democratic Party and join the APC. This invitation comes after the governor’s impressive performance in office, which prompted the forum to extend the offer.
In a statement released on Saturday in Abuja, the forum’s chairman, Saleh Zazzaga, urged Mutfwang to join the APC before the next congress and assume the position of party leader in the state. This move would align Mutfwang with President Bola Tinubu and strengthen their working relationship, ultimately benefiting the people of Plateau State.
The forum emphasized that having Mutfwang on board would ensure streamlined development across the North-Central region, as all states would align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Tinubu-led APC Federal Government.
This is not the first time the North-Central APC Forum has extended an invitation to Mutfwang. In April 2024, the forum sent a formal letter to the governor, and another to the party’s national secretariat, notifying them of the invitation.
The APC Forum warned that Mutfwang’s fortunes in the 2027 elections may be jeopardized if he fails to leave the crisis-ridden PDP and join the APC without delay.
