NAFDAC Shuts Down Abuja Pharmacy for Selling Expired, Unregistered Drugs

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has sealed off a pharmacy in Abuja for selling expired and unregistered drugs. The pharmacy, located on Onitsha Crescent, Area 11 – Garki, Abuja, was shut down following a tip-off from a concerned citizen.

During the enforcement operation, NAFDAC officials discovered expired products valued at over seven million naira, including “H-Pylori” test kits, which pose serious risks to public health. The pharmacy’s Managing Director and Superintendent Pharmacist were arrested for questioning as part of the investigation.

NAFDAC urged the public to remain vigilant when purchasing regulated products and report suspicious activities to the nearest NAFDAC office. The agency also warned that stringent sanctions will be imposed on the pharmacy as a deterrent to unethical practices.
