The Chief Medical Director of Edo Specialist Hospital (ESH), Benin City, Dr. (Mrs.) Anthonia Inibokun Njoku has paid a courtesy visit to the Edo State Coordinator of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr Theodore Ehannire, to explore stronger collaboration to improve access to quality healthcare in Edo State.
Discussions during the visit focused on reaccrediting and re-onboarding Edo Specialist Hospital onto the NHIA business platform, as part of efforts to expand health insurance coverage and improve service delivery in the state.
Dr Njoku highlighted recent innovations and progress recorded at ESH, assuring that the facility is now fully equipped to deliver quality healthcare in line with NHIA standards.
The visit also featured a facility tour conducted by Dr. Njoku and the Chief Medical Advisory Committee Chairman, Dr. Victor Ohenhen. Accompanying the NHIA State Coordinator were Dr. Elizabeth Egharevba, Head of Standards and Quality Assurance, and other senior officers.
Dr. Ehannire expressed satisfaction with the improvements observed at ESH and reaffirmed NHIA’s readiness to support the hospital’s prompt re-onboarding, noting that the partnership will further enhance healthcare access and service quality for Edo residents.
